CAUSTIC SODA is 50% concentrated Sodium Hydroxide and is hazardous and is considered as Dangerous Goods according to ANZ/ASCCC code. CAUSTIC SODA has got a variety of applications including floor cleaning, degreasing, drain cleaning and many others. It typically depends on the application how much dilution is required however below is an approximate understanding.
SODIUM HYDROXIDE can be used in the following applications:
- Drain pipe cleaner.
- Removes built up grease from ovens.
- Used to make soap and detergents.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
FLOOR CLEANING – Use 10g per 1 litre of water.
DEGREASING – Use 30g per 1 litre of water.
DE-STAINING CROCKERY – Soak in 10g per litre of water.
GENERAL CLEANING – For benches and equivalent, vats and tanks and drains use 50g to 100g per 5 litres of water depending on soil concentration.
Sodium Hydroxide Hazards
Caustic Soda needs to be handle with extreme care. The product is corrosive to the skin, and can cause damage over time. Always be careful when using caustic soda.
